In the villages we work in, water is the axis everything else turns on. When the nearest source is an hour’s walk away, girls stop going to school to fetch it. When the water is contaminated, children lose weeks to illness and families lose income to medicine. Eshaat Foundation builds the infrastructure that removes the problem permanently – hand pumps, solar-powered storage tanks and pipelines – and hands maintenance to the community itself, so the water is still flowing long after we leave.

Hand pumps go into areas that have formally requested them, not areas that photograph well. Requested infrastructure is used, protected and repaired; imposed infrastructure is abandoned.
Solar pumping removes the fuel and electricity bill that kills so many water projects in year two. Simple mechanics mean local repairs. We prioritise the community’s ability to keep it running.

Hand pumps work where the water table is shallow. Storage tanks and solar pumps suit communities with a source but no reliable power. Pipelines are for areas where there is simply no local water. Our field team makes the call – or you can tell us your budget and let us match it.
Ask any water charity how the project is maintained in year three. If there is no answer, the project is a photograph, not infrastructure. Ours are designed for local repair and community ownership.
