Most aid arrives and is consumed. A skill stays. At the Eshaat Skill Centre Workshop, women from low-income households in Karachi learn stitching and computer skills in a safe, supportive environment, and the strongest graduates are offered paid work inside the centre itself. For a widow, a single mother, or a young woman with no qualifications, that is the difference between depending on a monthly parcel and running her own household budget.

This is the part most programmes cannot offer. Training that ends at a certificate leaves a woman exactly where she started. We provide employment opportunities inside the centre to women who complete their course successfully.
Families in conservative low-income communities will not send a daughter or wife into a mixed environment. Our centre is built around that reality, which is why the women who need training most actually attend.
An income in a mother’s hands goes to food, school fees and medicine first. Fund one woman and you are quietly funding the nutrition and education of everyone under her roof.
Alongside technical training we build financial literacy, confidence and career readiness, and we keep the community around graduates after they finish.

Training builds the capability; equipment converts it into income. If you can only fund one, training reaches more women. If you want to see a graduate earning within weeks, fund a machine.
Stitching produces income fastest and works from home, which suits mothers and women in restrictive households. Computer skills pay more over time and open remote work. Both are needed.
Widows, single mothers and women supporting orphaned siblings get the most leverage from a skill, because there is no second income to fall back on.
Training women from Zakat-eligible households qualifies as a valid use of Zakat, and because the skill keeps earning for life, many donors treat it as Sadaqah Jariyah. Select your intention at checkout.
Courses run as structured programmes with practical workshop time rather than classroom theory alone. On successful completion, women who need work are offered employment opportunities within the centre, and others take the skill home to earn independently.
Yes. The women we train come from households that fall within the Zakat-eligible categories. Select “Zakat” at checkout and we allocate accordingly.
No. It covers the trainer, the materials, the machines and the running of the workshop. If you would rather fund a specific item – a sewing machine, for example – tell us and we will allocate it that way.
The skill centre is built specifically for women’s empowerment and is a women-only environment, which is what makes it accessible to the households we serve. Our other programmes support men and boys.
