Donate Food to Families in Pakistan: Fill an Empty Kitchen This Month

A month’s ration for a family costs less than a weekly grocery run. Give once, or give monthly, and we deliver it with the family’s dignity intact.

Hunger in Pakistan is rarely dramatic. It looks like a mother halving portions, a father skipping meals so the children eat, and a household quietly selling what little it owns to buy flour. Eshaat Foundation works on that quiet version of the crisis: structured ration distribution, cooked meals for people with no kitchen at all, subsidised staples so working families are not priced out, and direct support for widows and vulnerable carers. Every delivery is recorded, and every family is treated as a guest, not a case number.

Why Give Your Food Donation Through Eshaat

We deliver it ourselves

Our Karachi office and field teams run the distributions. There is no intermediary agency taking a cut, and no guesswork about whether the food arrived.

We protect dignity, not just calories

The Sasta Bazaar model exists because not every struggling family wants a charity parcel. Letting people buy flour at a price they can afford keeps them independent – and that matters as much as the food itself.

We reach past the cities

We distribute free rations in Balochistan and subsidised staples in Tando Allahyar and interior Sindh, in places larger charities rarely reach.

Food connects to everything else we do

The families we feed are often the same households with a child in an Eshaat school or an orphan under our sponsorship. Feeding them protects the education and the health work at the same time.

What Your Food Donation Delivers

How to Choose the Right Food Donation

Decide between a one-off pack and monthly giving

A single ration pack solves one month. Monthly giving is what stops a family sliding back, and it lets us buy in bulk at better prices – so your money buys more food.

Ration pack or cooked meal?

Ration packs suit households with a kitchen and a cook. Cooked meals are for people with neither – labourers, the displaced, and the very old. If you are unsure, ration packs stretch further.

Consider the whole household, not the individual

Widow support and wedding assistance look less urgent than food, but they prevent the debt spiral that causes the next food crisis. If you want to break the cycle rather than patch it, fund those.

Check your Zakat intention

Food aid to households below the nisab threshold is Zakat-eligible. Select “Zakat” at checkout and we ring-fence your donation for eligible recipients only.

FAQs

How do I know the food actually reached a family?

Our own staff run every distribution and keep records of what was distributed and where. We publish photographs and reports from our drives, and we can walk you through the detail of a specific distribution on request.

Can I give Zakat as food?

Yes. Feeding households that fall below the Zakat threshold is a recognised use of Zakat. Choose “Zakat” at checkout so we allocate it to eligible families only, and use “Sadaqah” if you would rather we spent it wherever the need is greatest.

What is in a ration pack?

A standard pack covers a household’s staples for roughly a month – flour, rice, pulses, cooking oil, sugar, tea and basic essentials. Contents shift slightly with local prices and what a particular area needs most.

Why do you sell food at subsidised prices instead of giving it away?

Because many of the families we serve are working people who do not want a parcel. Selling flour at a fraction of the market price keeps them fed and self-reliant, and it stretches your donation across far more households than free distribution alone.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. Eshaat Foundation is a registered US 501(c)(3) non-profit, EIN 88-3577097, and your receipt is issued automatically.

Can I fund a distribution in a specific area?

Yes. We work across Karachi, interior Sindh, Tando Allahyar and Balochistan. Tell us your preference and we will place your donation there if a drive is scheduled.

More Ways to Support These Families

  • Sponsor an orphan – full monthly support for one child
  • Donate to education – keep the children of these households in school
  • Clean water projects – hand pumps and storage tanks for the same communities
  • Ramadan and seasonal drives – iftar meals, Eid gifts and winter essentials
  • Give your Zakat or Sadaqah – allocated where the need is greatest

No Family Should Ration Flour. Not This Month.

Sixty dollars is a month of certainty for a household that currently has none. No skipped meals, no halved portions, no selling the last useful thing in the house.

Give once or monthly, cancel any time, and receive a US tax-deductible receipt the moment you donate.
